The conservation agreement is intended to protect and enhance the following significant cultural and natural esources:
- Simple notophyll vine forest usually with abundant Archontophoenix cunninghamiana (gully vine forest) on Mesozoic to Proterozoic igneous rocks described as the of concern regional ecosystem 12.12.1;
- Eucalyptus saligna or E. grandis tall open forest on Cainozoic igneous rocks described as the of concern regional ecosystem 12.8.8;
- Eucalyptus siderophloia, E. microcorys, E. propinqua, Corymbia intermedia ± Eucalyptus carnea open forest on Cainozoic igneous rocks described as the of concern regional ecosystem 12.8.8a;
- Eucalyptus siderophloia, E. propinqua, E. acmenoides open forest on near coastal hills on Mesozoic to Proterozoic igneous rocks described as the not of concern regional ecosystem 12.12.15;
- Known habitat for rare and threatened species, including the vulnerable Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) (southeast Queensland bioregion) and Richmond Birdwing butterfly (Ornithoptera richmondi), the rare Richmond Birdwing vine (Pararistolochia praevenosa) and the undescribed Lenwebbia spp. (Blackall Range).
